Training session with Stand Speak Rise Up

On 25 November 2025, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the National Council for the judiciary and the association Stand Speak Rise Up! joined forces for a training session dedicated to justice issues relating to sexual violence, human trafficking and the right to asylum.

HRH Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg and Mr Alain Thorn, President of the National Council for the judiciary, opened the meeting with inspiring and motivating words.

On the agenda:

  • The evolution of the legal framework for sexual violence as an international crime
  • The reality of human trafficking in Europe
  • Challenges related to asylum, migration and victim support in Luxembourg

The day concluded with the presentation of the legal journal Stand Speak Rise Up!, published by Legitech, which focuses on sexual violence in conflict and post-conflict contexts. It is a valuable tool for legal practitioners, institutions and actors in the field.
