Bilateral Meeting between the National Council for the judiciary and the High Council of Justice of Belgium

On 7 and 8 June 2026, the first bilateral Belgian–Luxembourg meeting between the High Council of Justice and the National Council for the judiciary took place in Luxembourg.

The two delegations held in-depth and constructive discussions on the organisation and functioning of their respective Councils, their respective competences, their relations with other institutions, as well as the practical challenges encountered and possible solutions.

These exchanges highlighted the importance of contacts between judicial councils in sharing best practices and contributing to the strengthening of the quality and independence of the judiciary.

The meeting concluded with a visit to the Cité judiciaire.
